AHA’s ACLS & PALS courses have been updated. It now includes new science from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.

The 2025 Course is structured as follows: • Core concepts are presented online through interactive video lessons.  Video lessons are completed before coming to class.  Then, Instructors lead discussions and case-based scenarios. • Students take the Provider Course Exam to confirm their understanding of core concepts.

The 2025 course uses simulated emergencies to teach key ideas. These include assessing situations systematically, basic life support, treatment steps, adequate resuscitation, and teamwork. The course aims to improve the quality of care for seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Course Videos

• Course videos are available in digital format online. • New videos have been added to the Course, including CPR Coach.

Precourse Work Instructor-led courses now include pre-course work. Students review course content through online interactive videos before entering the classroom. Video lessons cover multiple medical subjects to prepare students for the course. Each lesson includes questions to engage students. This format gives students more time for hands-on skills training, helping them be better prepared to participate when they enter the classroom.

CPR Coach The CPR Coach is a new role within the resuscitation team. The coach helps provide high-quality CPR and allows the Team Leader to focus on other cardiac arrest care. The Coach coordinates team members’ tasks and ensures clinical care follows AHA guidelines.

ACLS & PALS Hybrid Indirect Renewals

We are offering a quick way to recertify your American Heart ACLS & PALS certifications.  You can also do a BLS renewal with your ACLS or PALS Renewal.

This is for an American Heart ACLS or PALS Renewal, and BLS when added to the ACLS or PALS renewal.

You complete the Pre-assessment on the American Heart website (we will send you the link to the course after registering).  It takes about an hour.   If your skills are up to date, we will waive the classroom attendance.

When looking at our registration page, just look for Indirect Class.  No dates or times listed for class, just complete the online work and email us the results.  Once you complete the online work, we will issue new Ecards.
